Tablakâr

Tablakar is a design in Hi Arc's Anatolian Codes collection, where the surface becomes a stage and the table becomes a meaning.

It takes its name from the Ottoman word “tablakar” – the master who makes the table, the artisan who shapes the surface.

This name represents not only a production practice but also the consciousness that establishes a dialogue with matter.

The glossy lacquered surface collects light in the space, creating an almost liquid depth.

The lathe-shaped legs establish a quiet balance with the ground as a contemporary interpretation of traditional “top-top” shapes.

The corners are softened, the form uncannily elegant—a liminal object where strength and delicacy meet in the same body.

Tablakar is more than a piece of furniture, it is a dialogue between surface and ground.

It is a functional sculpture that finds form through the hands of the maker and where thought turns into matter.
