Âyân
Ayan is a design in HiArc's Anatolian Codes collection, where the individual form evolves into a collective structure.
It takes its name from the Arabic word ayan, meaning “clear, distinct, visible”.
This piece redefines visibility not merely as a physical state, but as a relational mode of existence.
The dual session structure both maintains and binds the distance between two individuals.
The skeleton, composed of turned wooden spheres, creates a sense of continuity through rhythmic repetition; this repetition references the cyclical nature of Anatolian craft.
The embroidered details on the backs are motifs representing identity and memory — each individual yet harmonious with the whole.
Ayan Bench is a functional sculpture where two forms meet at a point of balance; it makes the fine line between unity and difference visible spatially.
Material: Solid hornbeam, glossy lacquer, textured and embroidered fabric
Dimensions: 120 × 60 × 78 cm
