Hümayun

Hümayun brings together formal splendor and cultural depth in Hi Arc's Anatolian Codes collection.

The form is inspired by traditional throne and sofa typologies; however, here the concept of “throne” becomes a symbol not of power but of aesthetic consciousness.

While the solid lathe feet carry the craft tradition of the past, the rhythmic pattern on the fabric surface shows that power and elegance can exist side by side.

“Hümayun” establishes both a sculptural weight and a poetic balance within the space—just like the ancient understanding in Anatolian culture where power is balanced with aesthetics.

This piece reinterprets the concept of functional sculpture:

It transforms the act of use into an aesthetic experience and the act of sitting into a cultural representation.
